About Connected, The Musical

Connected, the Musical is about a transgender teenager who is in the process of transitioning. Throughout the show we see this character go from presenting female to presenting male.

Helen Corelli is so proud of her 13 year old daughter Gabriella, who is a world-class figure skater. As their skating club prepares for the annual culminating show, coach Abby Robbins is trying to make everything go smoothly. However, Abby’s husband Jeremy has been acting manipulative and even cruel, while appearing charming to the online world. Abby’s home life becomes untenable as the show approaches. Gabriella’s identity crisis leaves her skating partner Derek in the lurch.

As the second act begins, Helen’s child chooses the name Gabriel, and begins using he/him pronouns. We see Abby relocate her two children, Liz and Chase, to an apartment separate from her husband. Gabriel and Abby find support from their online communities and their wider network.

Out of respect for our performers, we will be asking attendees to send in questions ahead of time. After you register for the program, a submission form link will be sent out to you the day before the program. Your questions will then be read aloud to the performers. If you have questions during the program, notepads will be available to write down your questions and handed in for someone else to read aloud.
