Immerse Yourself Town-Wide Read: Better Living Through Birding Book Discussion

Saturday, March 2310:30—11:30 AMSetter RoomDuxbury Free Library77 Alden Street, Duxbury, MA, 02332

For those who were unable to attend the February book discussion at the Senior Center, we will be hosting an additional conversation of the memoir Better Living through Birding by Christian Cooper, a New York Times bestseller and a Town-wide read. There will be coffee and breakfast treats!

In Better Living Through Birding, Cooper tells the story of his extraordinary life leading up to the now-infamous incident in Central Park and shows how a life spent looking up at the birds prepared him, in the most uncanny of ways, to be a gay, Black man in America today.

This event is part of the Immerse Yourself series, a new town-wide initiative to create events surrounding the central themes of a book. With engaging programming for all ages surrounding the themes and topics of the chosen book, you’ll be able to “immerse yourself” in all aspects of the story through discussion, education, and fun. The January-March 2024 book will be Better Living Through Birding by Christian Cooper. You can pick up a copy at the Duxbury Free Library or purchase a copy at Booked. Immerse Yourself is a collaborative effort with the following Duxbury organizations: Duxbury for All, Duxbury Senior Center, Duxbury Free Library, Duxbury Public Schools, Mass Audubon, Booked, and the Art Complex Museum.

Registration for this event has now closed.
