Sunday Arts and Culture Series: A Fascinating Rhythm--AfroLatin Drums

Sunday, March 122:00—3:00 PMMerry RoomDuxbury Free Library77 Alden Street, Duxbury, MA, 02332

Using his drumming, dance and cultural anthropology training, a wealth of African, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian percussion, award-winning teaching artist Cornell Coley, M. Ed. "edu-tains" audiences of all ages. Cornell's engaging performance draws audiences 'in' by blending thought-provoking questions and cultural information with the "hands-on" experience of playing and dancing with him. He enters the stage playing and singing, and immediately engages audiences with movement and dialog. Audience members can come up on stage to play the cornerstone instruments - drums, bells and shakers -. Everyone jams "carnival style" at the end! Appropriate for urban or suburban groups.

The Sunday Arts and Culture Series is funded by the Friends of the Duxbury Free Library.
