Sunday, November 172:00—4:00 PMMerry RoomDuxbury Free Library77 Alden Street, Duxbury, MA, 02332

Allow Traveling Troubadour Desmond Curran to move you with original spoken word, rap, acoustic music, scenes from movies and Shakespeare along with lots of laughs and stories. He will transport you from Melville’s Pequod to Brando’s Waterfront to Shakespeare’s Hamlet and all places in between. Desmond draws from experiences of working over 20 different jobs throughout his life as well as challenges he’s faced and the many colorful people he’s met.

Born in Anchorage Alaska in 1966, from an infant, Desmond was enthralled with fishing. Alaska was a breathtaking experience through eight years, however, he lost his father at age 8 and his Grandfather 6 months later. His family relocated to Cape Cod Massachusetts, where Des lived for the next 20 years. The mystery and pain of loss, coupled with Irish women doing their best to bring him up, created at times a very challenging life. Desmond ended up moving to New York City for ten years, studying acting and teaching special education. He then moved up to Buffalo, N.Y. for 13 years, and has just recently moved back to Massachusetts.
