Sunday Arts & Culture Series: Marc Berger

Sunday, January 192:00—4:00 PMMerry RoomDuxbury Free Library77 Alden Street, Duxbury, MA, 02332

Marc Berger is a nationally touring artist based out of New York. He has performed at Austin’s South X Southwest Music Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival, and has opened shows for Bob Dylan and other national acts. Marc's most recent music CD release, RIDE, is a collection of songs all having to do with the romance of the American West and has received national airplay and critical acclaim. Starbucks has licensed the album for worldwide in-store airplay.

"A thoroughly engaging performer, Marc's between song 'stage banter' went well beyond the witty patter of many musical performers.  He is certainly capable of telling an amusing yarn, but what makes his performances especially appropriate for a library setting are the cultural, topographical and often quite literary references he makes.  He provides as sharp a portrait of the American West as any contemporary singer-songwriter--whether native to the region or not.  Marc Berger is the real deal."  -Gregory Callahan, Director, Hyde Park Free Library (Hyde Park, NY)
