Let's talk about genes! Join us for a discussion of the book The Code Breaker by Walter Isaacson. We will also be hearing from molecular biologist Dr. Gail Begley, who will provide some background information on the gene editing process discussed in the book. 

Dr. Gail S. Begley is a Teaching Professor in Biology at Northeastern University and President of Molecular Translations, Inc. Dr. Begley earned her PhD in Cell & Molecular Biology at Boston University and was a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford Institute of Molecular Medicine and at Harvard Medical School. Since joining Northeastern University, Dr. Begley has taught courses in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Research, and Bioethics. She has been recognized with the Northeastern University Excellence in Teaching award and served as a Biology Scholar with the American Society for Microbiology and a Lead Faculty Scholar for the Center for Advancing Teaching & Learning through Research at Northeastern.
