Kris Gaskin will give a Gallery Talk on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:00 on the second floor of the Duxbury Free Library in front of the display case.
We are exhibiting several women's pockets, in use from the mid 17th century until around 1900. These tie-on pockets provided a way for women to carry things around with them both at home and outside the home. In addition to the pockets, we will display small objects that women would have carried with them in their pockets.
This event is presented by the Clothing and Textiles Committee of the DRHS in partnership with the DFL.
